Our Story

How it all started…

It started with a dream and is now a reality. The Gospel of Jesus Christ Church of Beaumont was founded in 1991 by Dr. Castile Colbert Jr., as a non-profit faith-based organization that supports socially disadvantaged families.

Since then, The Gospel of Jesus Christ Church has expanded the scope of its community services to include drug prevention, community outreach, battered and abused counseling, and gang violence prevention alternatives.

Where we’re headed…

But He Said, " I must preach [the good news of] the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because I was sent for this purpose." Luke 4:43
It is and always will be our charge to spread the goodness of God. To put love before ego and take care of the needs of God's children, serving as examples on His behalf. The very core of the Gospel of Jesus Christ Church is the love that resonates with each and every person who enters the Sanctuary. Our charge is to convey that love to our community.

Expanding the vision...

The needs of our community continue to grow by the day, and we have recently expanded to meet these needs. Over the years, we have learned that what people need the most is someone who will listen to their concerns - someone they can turn to for support when the going gets tough.  That is the essence of The Gospel of Jesus Christ Church.
